A Little Shadow is a Big Deal

I have been seeing a shadow in my vision for a few weeks.  I went to my Optomotrist who told me to see an Opthamologist with a retina specialty.  I now know that I have a DETACHED RETINA.

To repair the detachment, I had a procedure done called PNEUMATIC RETINAPEXY.  My Opthamologist numbed my eye by inserting a Qtip with anticeptic into the back of my eye.  He then froze my retina using gas 80 degrees below 0 (cryogenic freeze).  He then removed some fluid from the whites of my eye (called, odly enough, the vitrious humor), and inserted a gas bubble.

The gas bubble will push my eye back up to my retina.  I have to sit/stand with my head at a 45 degree angle to keep the bubble in the right place for three weeks.

I'm going to go home to let my mom take care of me.

Closer is postponed until further notice.

Upcoming Productions

Closer is really taking shape.  I am looking ahead to our next productions.

My team originally formed while trying to put up Betrayal by Harold Pinter.  We were not able to get the rights (even though we had been rehearsing for three weeks), so we moved on to another piece that would be good for our cast (Closer).  Maybe Betrayal should be next.

Phaedra by Elizabeth Egloff is also another great option.  I had looked at it last summer, but the production feel apart when  the economy started to tank.  It's a larger cast and a bigger difference in tone and storyline than Closer.

I'm also interested in doing a showcase.  I would love to have 5-8 pieces of performance.  One dancer would be paired with a musician who would be inspired by an original art piece that would be displayed on stage for the performance.

There's always the old standard 10-minute play festival.

I suppose I should get Closer successfully off the ground before I start to make pie in the sky plans.

Fed by Fire Productions Extablished July 2009

One of my biggest life goals has just been reached.

I just filed a sole proprietorship for Fed by Fire Productions, an independent theatre company based in Los Angeles, CA.

The business title will be published in British Weekly for 4 weeks to legally establish it.
